However, registrations declined from 3,377,806 in 2022 to 3,347,005 in 2023.

Regarding traffic accidents, Oklahoma saw a decrease in traffic fatalities to 584 in 2023 from 596 in 2022. Key violations included 180 incidents of distracted driving, 203 crashes due to speeding, and 160 incidents of impaired driving.

Major highways and intersections were high-risk areas, with peak accident times between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. from June to September, accounting for 26% of all accidents.

In terms of vehicle sales, Oklahoma sold 514,336 new vehicles in 2023, with the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, and Ram 1500 being the top-selling models. During the fiscal year 2022, dealers issued 19,809 new and used vehicle plates, while 18,452 motor titles and 1,469,144 vehicle titles were newly issued across the state.
